Biography
Tony Richardson (1928-1991)
Tony Richardson was one of the founders of Free Cinema, directing socially engaged films such as Look Back in Anger (1959), A Taste of Honey (1961) and The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962). He achieved enormous success with Tom Jones (1963), for which he received the Best Director Oscar, but he maintained his originality and provocativeness with The Charge of the Light Brigade (1968), Ned Kelly (1970) and The Border (1982).
