Synopsis

When war breaks out in Syria, 6-year-old Dounia and her grandparents leave the city of Aleppo in search of a safe haven. They will meet many obstacles on the way, but Dounia draws strength from her imagination and the wisdom of her culture. A superb coming-of-age journey that tells of exile and displacement from a child’s-eye view.
