1920s. Marta, a young woman in an unhappy marriage to a jealous husband, agrees to take part in a magic act, and uses the opportunity to disappear for good. To save face, the magician invents an improbable story which the naive husband will accept without batting an eyelid. A musical fantasy that flirts with the fantastical and the irrational.
