Synopsis

Victoria has just turned 18 when she accedes to the throne in 1837. Brought up far away from court, she must try to distinguish between genuine friends and those pursuing their own ends. Her husband Albert will be an invaluable ally, helping her to establish herself as monarch. The very glamorous portrait of a compassionate and capable woman. 

Biography

Jean-Marc Vallée (1963-2021)

One of Canada’s most acclaimed film-makers. The critical and public success of his French-language films, Black List (1995) and C.R.A.Z.Y. (2005), opened up the doors to an international career. He made The Young Victoria (2009), Café de flore (2011), Dallas Buyers Club (2013), Wild (2014) and Demolition (2015), in addition to several series for the television network HBO, including Big Little Lies.
