In the early 1960s, Alice and Céline live with their families in two identical, adjoining, middle-class houses on the outskirts of Brussel. They are the definition of best friends, like their husbands and their eight years old sons, Theo and Maxime who grew up together like brothers. The two families practically live as one. This almost perfect harmony is starting falling apart the day when a sudden tragedy uproots their daily lives.
