Young Russian emigree, Lillian, finds herself in New York, jobless and penniless. So she decides to return to her country by the only means open to her - by foot. Alone and determined, she embarks on her odyssey through the vast expanses of America, trying to reach Alaska and cross the Bering Strait. Her path will be strewn with a series of encounters and dangers.
