Pascale Ferran, guest of honor
Pascale Ferran has been a dominant figure of French cinema for the last twenty-five years. Since the mid-1990s, she has made four highly acclaimed feature films. This year, she has just finished the fourth season of the spy series Le Bureau des Légendes. Politically committed in both her professional and non-professional life, she plays a key part in every battle, especially when it comes to defending an auteur cinema that is capable of reaching the widest possible audience, the "Cinéma du Milieu": mid-budget, artistically ambitious, independent films which struggle to find funding and screen space. Today, the vision and lucidity of this discreet but brilliant film maker are more essential to us than ever.
