War widows' pensions place a heavy financial burden on the Croatian State. A new law removes entitlement from all those who are cohabiting unofficially. Kreso, a biologist whose marriage is on the rocks, is hired to track down fraudsters. He hates this work but excels at deception and achieves brilliant results, until the day he falls in love with one of his targets.
